To gain access to Connect Writing 2.0, you will need to purchase an access code online or from the bookstore. But you do have 21-day trial period you can use before you need to purchase. This trial period should allow you to gather the funds you'll need to buy the access code.
In Connect Writing 2.0, there is an e-book called College Writing Skills, by Langan. There is also an assignment called Personalized Learning Plan. This assignment is an ongoing set of exercises in various grammar rules and writing conventions. Based on your performance on the diagnostic, you will be required to improve your skills in various grammar topics. To earn full credit on this assignment you must achieve 100% completion in all of the modules. The PLP is designed to make sure you get the right answer but also be confident that you got the right answer. It adapts to your actual knowledge, but it also scores you based on consistency.
Also, I have set up the assignment to cover quite a few topics. So you will need to work on this assignment steadily throughout the semester. How much time will depend on your performance on the diagnostic, your performance in each module, and your ability to answer questions correctly on a consistent basis. I will expect to see steady progress from one week to the next.
